Over the past thirty years, the Rain-X® brand has evolved from a single product to ‘masterbrand’ status. Its strong brand equity provided a platform from which to successfully launch into multiple car care categories including wiper blades, windshield washer fluids, glass cleaners, car washes and waxes.

Rain-X was acquired by the Quaker State Company in November of 1997, and then in December of 1998 Quaker State merged with Pennzoil to form the Pennzoil-Quaker State Company. On October 1, 2002 the Pennzoil-Quaker State Company was acquired by Shell Oil Company. Today, Rain-X products are produced and marketed by SOPUS Products.
